Welcome New Families and Welcome Back Existing Families - 

we hope your summer was pleasant and your kids are recharged and ready for school...or at least you are ready for your student to begin their new school year.

 

Here's a quick look at the upcoming dates:

Wednesday, August 9th CAMP EMERSON (see flyer below).   

8:15. Begins Sign In and Refreshments 

9:00 - 10:00 am is orientation in auditorium for parents.  

Students will be participating in preplanned programs and orientation from 9 am -2pm.  Pizza lunch is served to your students along with a snack of fresh fruit.  Please send a water bottle along with your child so they can refill as needed.

Who should attend?  If you've registered as a new family or a new student attending Emerson for the 2017-2018 school year.  


Tuesday, August 15th is the First Day of School!  7:55 am is the bell.  


Suggestion for Student Drop off - Vehicles:  Welcome to middle school.  To limit the car congestion in front of school and keep the flow moving - it would be super helpful if you have your student ready with their back packs etc to exit vehicle without you having to actually park for more than a few moments.  Of course many of you will want to walk your student into the school, so please consider parking on the other side of Selby or further down the block.

PACE meetings are open to all parents, teachers, and administration.  They occur one time a month.  The PACE meetings for 2017-2018 will be listed in August.

If you are interested in working as a liaison or a sub committee in one of the areas of PACE, please send an email "Contact PACE" menu heading above.  Please note that PACE Board is the umbrella under which other parent committees and initiatives function, this helps keep order and a "Wild West" approach curtailed.

If you have a specific topic of interest to a grade level, etc, that you feel is important enough to discuss at a PACE meeting, please submit your idea to PACE ahead of time to get placed on the agenda.  Contact Us  in the heading menu above.

These are the next dates for meeting finishing up the 2016-2017 year: 

  • Thursday, May 4th  at 6:30 pm - PACE Board Nominations
  • MONDAY, June 5th at 6:30 pm  (Tentative)  this is the last meeting.  Voting for seats on the PACE Board will take place. If you want to know the positions, please sign up for the news letter which is emailed every week between Sunday and Tuesday. Nominations took place on May 4th as was announced in the newsletter. Scroll down this page to see the link for sign up.

TOUR DATES During 2017-2018 school year are not yet available. Please check back in August 2017. Thank you for your interest in Emerson Community Charter School. Our tours are a great way for prospective families to become familiar with our campus, our academic and extra-curricular programs, and our community. Students are welcome and encouraged to attend the tours with their parents.

No more tours remain for  the 2016-2017 School Year.


Reservations are required. Please RSVP by sending an email to EmersonToursRSVP@gmail.com

and include:

1) Your name

2) The name of the school your child currently attends

3) Your child’s current grade

4) The tour date you’d like to attend

5) The number of people who will be attending the tour in your group.

All tours begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. with a presentation in the auditorium followed by a campus tour led by student ambassadors and parent volunteers, culminating with a Q&A with the principal in the library. Please plan to arrive by 8:15 a.m. to park and check in.
